St. Joseph’s Church is dedicated.

December 6, 1846

Architect: Patrick Keeley. Designed in the Romanesque Revival style, it is located at 56 Circuit Street. The second (first-Heath) Catholic parish in Roxbury, the congregation was established in 1845. Fr. Patrick O’Beirne is the first pastor and serves for the next 40 years. The building is altered in 1886 and demolished in February 2005.
